Dressing formally in the summer months can be a nightmare. Thanks to the weather this July, I’ve been seriously thinking about wearing shorts and flip-flops to work! While that’s probably not a good idea, we’ve come up with more realistic options to keep you feeling cool and looking cute at your workplace.
Linen trousers are perfect for summer. They’re light, breathable, tailored, and trendy – what more could you want from a pair of pants? The white trousers and floral pattern make a formal-looking silhouette more cheerful. Wearing a colourful camisole underneath is great for “dressing down” when you’re off work and back in the heat!
A bright floral dress will have you looking and feeling pretty when you’re out in the sun. Add a white linen blazer for a professional touch, without a heavy jacket to melt your summery look. Unless you’re going to a barbecue (in which case I’m jealous of your job), make sure the dress has a fitted skirt of at least knee-length.
Keep accessories understated and minimal – pearl earrings and tennis bracelets are classic. A structured tote in a muted or dark colour is polished and practical. Nude pumps are neutral enough for work, yet soft enough to pair with florals. A caramel shade will complement your summer tan and elongate your legs! A low-heeled pump in a matching pastel colour is fun without being too flashy.
